Keith Lee is a social media influencer who specializes in restaurant reviews. He needed a new merch shop to reach his over 6 million fans, or as Keith calls them, his Familee.
To create a simple, sleek site design for Keith Lee's latest merch drop. Keith's team wanted to make sure the design used the merch photography to do the selling.
Research for this website design was quick as Keith's team asked for a very rapid turnaround in order to complete his merch launch on their requested timeline. I reviewed several other social media influencer merch sites along with other clothing sites to come up with some do's and don'ts for Keith's site.
Keith's team worked together with me to help list out things they liked and did not like about the various sites I researched, and they also provided some examples of other websites they liked to use as inspiration for their designs. Our biggest challenge was beating a very tight timeline.
I quickly put together a design combining many of the ideas we discussed in our research phase. The biggest thing they wanted to do with their site is use their new merch photographs as the biggest selling point for the designs. This design was built to do that in a unique way using a hero section that featured several items and substantial white space around each of the products as you moved down the page.
I quickly developed a proof of concept for the site using Shopify's Liquid language that made the POC a fully-functional prototype. While Keith's team could not complete the full checkout process from the prototype, they were able to see how things would work.
While Keith and his team were very happy with the design we created, they unfortunately decided to move all design and website updates to their internal team and did not use this proof of concept.
Client feedback was very positive of the design and how it represented their vision.
